Senior Software Engineer –Server Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

	Design, develop and maintain NIM’s core server side location based application and service products.
	Create and contribute to system architecture to ensure the robustness, performance and scalability of the entire system.
	Work with other senior developers to improve existing system, fine tune system performance, and increase overall data throughput.
	Assist with design and development of database schema and entity diagrams.
	Interact with customers and clients.
	Translate customer need into real and robust applications.
	Translate product requirement into design specifications and schedules.
	Participate in design and code reviews.
	Provide technical information relating to application for technical documentation; author internal documentations.
	Work with other developers to set standards and define best practices for coding and design.
	Share the knowledge and work experience you’ve gained working in the industry.
	Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your function.
	Mentor other Engineers

Qualifications:

	5+ years of hands on development experience in a commercial software server development environment.
	Experience with all phases of product development lifecycle, including prototyping, test and product release and sustaining engineering.
	Extensive experience in C or C++
	Extensive experience with Python and UNIX Shell Scripting
	Extensive, in depth experience with Oracle or Postgres. Experience with PL/SQL a plus.
	Extensive knowledge of UNIX operating systems (including Linux) for development and basic administration. Experience with FreeBSD a plus.
	Strong working knowledge of XML, threads and debugging practices.
	Extensive experience of best practices in server application security and TCP/IP development, BSD Sockets and inter-process communications.
	Desire to engage in challenging assignments.
	Good verbal and written communication skills and strong collaborative skills
	Self managed proactive work style. Able to work well independently and in a team environment
	Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
