Position Description:
NIM seeks a Business Development Director with strong domestic and international experience in the wireless industry. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage business relationships with content, infrastructure, and technology partners. You will also drive NavBuilder platform activities and generate business opportunities with enterprise customers. In this role, you will work with our Product Management and Project Management teams to plan and coordinate software products and applications for customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with infrastructure, technology and content partners in support of mutual business interests. Coordinate activities with other internal Partner Managers and Business Development team members globally.
- Internal partner champion at NIM. Drive new partner technology and product offering initiatives. Responsible for effective communications between external partners and internal cross-functional teams.
- Drivecomplex contract negotiations with external partners and customers.
- Support business development activities relating to participation in partner programs, conferences and other related events.
- Understand and monitor the partner’s roadmaps. Ensure that NIM’s applications are aligned with the partner’s and customers’ roadmaps. Prepare necessary documents and collateral materials. Coordinate quarterly business and product reviews.
- Develop and present product proposals for partners and potential customers business and product management teams. Coordinate internal responses to RFIs and RFPs as required.
- Extensive domestic and potentially International travel to partner meetings, Joint-customer meetings, and conferences.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Business Development or related experience in a mobile software development services company, mobile middleware, or Location Based Services (LBS) company.
- Extensive knowledge of the mobile and wireless industry. Able to understand technical subjects and emerging technologies and their relevance to the marketplace.
- Proven track record of building strong working relationships with both product management teams and customer teams within the mobile eco-system. An extensive personal network in the mobile and wireless industry is preferred.
- Superior communications, presentation, and negotiation skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with senior executives internally and externally.
- Able to identify strategic opportunities and recommend creative solutions.
- Self-starter with proactive, work style. Self-confident, aggressive, open and honest.
- Strong cross-functional team leadership skills. Excellent meeting management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related technical discipline.
- Prefer someone based in Southern California with easy access to NIM Headquarters in Orange County
- Able to travel throughout North America, Asia and Europe approximately 50% of the time.
